How Do I Get Involved ?

What can I expect when I visit Church on a Sunday ?

On Sunday mornings, you will experience a worship service with both traditional and contemporary elements. Our 10:00 am services meet in our sanctuary and are a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs led by our worship team. Our choir will perform, prayers will be lifted for those in need, scripture will be read, and one of our pastors will teach from the Bible. At all services we take an offering, but this is for our members and regular attenders as part of their commitment to God and the church. As a visitor, please do not feel obligated to make a donation.

If you’re visiting on the first Sunday of the month, you can expect Communion to be served. We ask that only those that profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ participate in this holy sacrament. Read more about our Sunday Service here.

How do I get connected?

At Peniel Church of God, we value community. We try to provide many ways for individuals to get connected within our church, especially through our prayer meetings. Prayer at Peniel Church of God is not something we do; it defines who we are. We are a praying people. Through prayer, we grow in our personal relationship with God. Through intercession, we partner with God to establish His heart, His will, and His purposes in our families, our church, our city, our nation, and the world. Prayer is engaging, exciting, and rewarding.

We currently have the following opportunities to enhance your prayer life and join with others in prayer.

  • Intercessory Prayer Ministry: Everyday at 10:00 am and On Demand. (click here)
  • Cottage Meetings: Friday and Saturdays at 7:30 pm. (click here)
  • Small group Prayer: At 9:30 am prior to Sunday Worship Service. (click here)
  • Call to Prayer: A component of the Sunday Worship Service. (click here)
  • Fasting Prayer: First Week of Every Month.
  • Night Vigil Prayer: Once in a year.

You’ll hear about a lot of these opportunities from the pulpit on a Sunday morning, as well as in the Church Bulletin. Be sure to say hello to Pastor Abraham Thomas when you visit, and feel free to ask your questions.

We also encourage you to visit the other pages in the “Ministries & Outreach” section of our website to see all the weekly opportunities there are to connect with other members of our fellowship. We look forward to getting to know you.
